Modern and contemporary art from Mongolia

The gallery presents painting shaped by nomadic and pastoral traditions, by Mongolia's landscapes, and by the spiritual and historical memory carried in its imagery. Many of these artists trained in the realist schools of the socialist era and worked through the country's turn to democracy — what results is neither folklore nor a single national style, but individual practices, figurative to abstract, that record a society in movement.
